You know how I've been writing about the waiting season the Lord has had us in over the last 4 months...you know, the one I wrote about here and here?
Well, I am excited (and maybe a lotta bit nervous) to announce that our waiting season has ended!
Below is an email that we sent out this morning that details our decisions and gives more info about our new ministry:
When we stepped off the plane back onto American soil in the early Fall
of 2014 we were excited for the opportunity to rest and recuperate a bit
from our amazing but incredibly busy year at Have Faith Haiti Mission.
The Lord knew exactly what we needed and we have enjoyed a time of
refreshing and reconnecting with friends and family.
It was during this time that we were also seeking the Lords direction on our next step. Seeking hard! Living in the unknown isn't the most comfortable place to be, but we knew that the Lord was working in our hearts to refine us and prepare us for what was coming next. We have had many opportunities in many different capacities and countries, and we did our due diligence to seek the Lords direction for each opportunity.
It was during this due diligence process that the Lord gently prodded us to realize that we needed to stop trying to make a new opportunity and move forward in the opportunity he had already given us.
Therefore, after much prayer and seeking and a confirmed unity and peace amongst everyone involved, Jeremiah and I have taken a staff position as Director of Operations with Until The Whole World Knows.
UTWWK is the missions organization that Jeremiah's parents founded and run and we got an inside look at their ministry while living in Haiti, as we were just a few miles down the road from them.
This inside look revealed an amazing ministry in Haiti that is thriving and growing and making an impact, but also in need of some help in the very areas that we are skilled in and passionate about!
Jeremiah will be supporting their current ministry in Haiti, leading teams, handling communications, deepening current ministries in orphan and widow care and pastor training, developing new partnerships, as well as providing some on the ground relief for Jim and Debbie and the demands of the Our House of Hope Ministry Center. We already have two trips planned in the next two months and our entire family will be spending a large section of our summer back in Haiti!
Beyond Haiti, Jeremiah will be growing UTWWK's parternships all over the world! We currently have trips planned to Moldova, Madagascar, and Myanmar (Burma) for 2015.
We will also be visiting local and supporting churches, giving ministry updates, sharing what the Lord is doing through UTTWK, and if needed, partnering with them to help start effective missions programs.
Even though our year will be filled with travel, our family will have a home base in the Roanoke, VA area. This provides Jennifer and the kids with some roots and stability for school and building friendships...and the kids are very hopeful for the possible addition of a new four legged member of the family, ha!
So why are we telling you all of this?
Because of your past prayers and support of our family, we are humbly asking you to consider continuing that support in this new year and in this new ministry endeavor. Being 100% self-supported is a bit of a scary place to be in as a family of six, but we are confident that the Lord will provide and we are not ashamed to ask you to be a part of what he has called us to do.
We have a $4,000.00 a month budget goal we need to meet, as well as a separate travel and ministry expense fund we hope to build up.
